A battle between Left and Right -- inside the GOP
Posted by admin / Under Castle AshbyThere's been a lot of talk about what Democrats will do if they lose seats in the House and Senate this November. Many Republicans believe Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid will make a last-ditch, lame-duck effort to pass the remaining parts of their agenda, like tax increases, card check, and a climate change bill. And that's why Christine O'Donnell says the Senate race in Delaware is so important. The Delaware contest is not a regularly scheduled election but rather a special vote to fill the last four years of Vice President Biden's old term. That means the winner will be...
HOT! Tea Party Candidate could be single Senate vote that stops Dems dead during lame duck session!
Posted by admin / Under Castle AshbyChristine ODonnell is now gaining significant ground against liberal Republican Mike Castle in the special election to replace Joe Biden in 2010. Pay close attention to that last part there the special election to replace Joe Biden in 2010. /snip/ Because the election to replace Joe Biden is a special election, the winner would be immediately seated./snip/ Mike Castle would almost certainly vote WITH the Democrats
Election Wins Can Stop Lame-Duck Threat
Posted by admin / Under Castle AshbySenate Democrats who think they can use a lame-duck session to force the country into a final, decisive lurch to the left may be in for a big surprise: newly elected senators ready to take their seats and derail major policy changes before the new Congress convenes. There are now six unelected members of the U.S. Senate; they represent Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, New York, and West Virginia. The rules governing the seating of senators elected to replace appointed senators are left to the states in the 17th amendment....... Two states are clearly opportunities for the GOP to pick up...
Republican Senate candidate fires new salvo in the next battle of Tea Party vs. 'RINO'
Posted by admin / Under Castle AshbyChristine ODonnell is going on the offensive in her bid for the Delaware Senate seat vacated by Vice President Joe Biden, in a race that could open up a new front in the war between Tea Partiers and those they describe as RINOs, or Republicans in Name Only.
Christine ODonnell: 20,000 Votes Will Take Out The King RINO (Mike Castle)
Posted by admin / Under Castle AshbyRep. Mike Castle (17 years in the House), who voted FOR the T.A.R.P., the Omnibus, Serve America Act, Credit Card Accountability Act, Cap and Trade, and the Fin Reg Reform Bill (among others). Considering Castles inability to vote for limited government like a true Republican (he votes with Obama 6 of 10 votes), there might actually be a bigger upset than Scott Browns resounding defeat of Martha Coakley rapidly approaching The First State when tea party endorsed Christine ODonnell spanks Castle with the help of impoverished Delawareans and YOU the rest of America.
It is a Trend Toward ABC in DE
Posted by admin / Under Castle AshbyMore and more people in Delaware are beginning say Anybody But Castle. However, this is actually a positive development for Republicans. Mike Castle, you will remember, is a forty-year career far Left liberal Republican member of congress. He voted for Cap and Trade, TARP, the auto and banking industry takeovers. More recently he co sponsored the infamous Disclose Act designed to muzzle the first amendment rights of his detractors, and he supported the Banking Reform Act which rewards the very banks who have so heavily supported him. He is consistently pro abortion and has earned an F- rating from the...
Is Kirk part of a plot to undermine U.S. Senate conservatives?
Posted by admin / Under Castle AshbyIllinois conservative Republicans have a national dilemma mounting right before their eyes. The Hill wrote yesterday that the GOP's Mark Kirk is part of an effort to weaken conservative influence in the U.S. Senate
O'Donnell eyes brand-name support
Posted by admin / Under Castle Ashby...As ODonnell criticizes Castle for supporting the bank bailouts, cap and trade and abortion rights, she appears to have caught DeMints attention. The two met recently and a spokesman for the senators political action committee said DeMint was extremely impressed. Shes a principled conservative who has been overlooked by the Washington establishment. The senator has not made an endorsement in this race but he's watching it closely to see if O'Donnell can get within striking distance, Matt Hoskins said. Alluding to a recent Rasmussen survey showing ODonnell leading in a general election and Castles advantage over Democrat Chris Coons narrowing,...
Delaware's Endangered RINO
Posted by admin / Under Castle AshbyLast week, the "Castle can win" argument suffered what may prove a fatal blow from a Rasmussen poll: "Congressman Mike Castle's support has fallen below 50% for the first time in his race with Democrat Chris Coons for the U.S. Senate in Delaware." Castle, who had previously led Coons by more than 20 points, now leads the general election matchup 47-36, which is only marginally better than O'Donnell's 41-39 matchup with Coons.
